In textiles the task is to Design and Make a cushion that reflects the colour scheme of their own bedrooms.



Students generate a range of ideas that develop into their final design.



The design is applied to the cushion using either appliqué or patchwork and any text on the cushion is done by using CAD/CAM in the CNC sewing machine.
The students are given the opportunity to improve their sewing techniques particularly on the sewing machine.
Room plans are produced in 3D perspective that links their design to the final outcome.



All this work prepares the students well for the GCSE in Textiles that can be based on either Fashion or Interior Design. Students can then go on to study A Level Product design with a Textiles outcome.
