French

During Year 9 you will be building on the knowledge and skills you have acquired at Middle School.  The topics you will cover are as follows:

• Mon Lycée
• On fait connaissance
• Les Jeunes
• Si on visitait Paris?
• Mon Avenir
• L’Avenir du Monde
• La Nostalgie
• Les Pays Francophones

Year 9 is a continuation of Key Stage 3 and therefore you will need to keep the work you’ve done in year 7 and 8 in a safe place.  You will also use the same exercise book.

Spanish

You will start by learning simple phrases and words.  However, you will  progress quickly and by the end of Term 1, you will be making up conversations and writing paragraphs about topics you cover.  Spanish is a popular subject and you will find the lessons lively and interesting.  Topics include:

• Mi Familia y Yo (My family and me)
• La Casa (The house and home)
• ¿Dónde está? (Geographical surroundings)
• La Comida (Food)
• Los Pasatiempos (Hobbies)
• La Vida Diaria (Daily Routine)
• En el Instituto (School)
• La Ropa (Clothes)
