KS3
There are five different modules in Technology that Year 9 students will have completed by the end of the Spring Term.
These are Graphics, Food Technology, Textiles, Design Process and Product Design
KS4
All students study GCSE Technology at Wolgarston and can choose from Graphic Products, Product Design, Food Technology, and Textiles, following the AQA Specification, and they start the GCSE course in the summer term of Year 9.
For the more talented Graphics students we run an enrichment course where they are able to take an addition GCSE in Photography using a course designed by Edexcel.
This year the some of the Graphics and Textiles students have been entered for the ”Silver Stem award scheme” which is organised by Setpoint in Staffordshire if they are successful we hope to enter more students next year.
KS5 Sixth Form
We currently run three A Level Product Design courses in either; Graphics, Resistant Materials or Textiles following the Edexcel Specification. The A2 students have been entered for the Gold Stem awards and are currently being monitored by a representative from Setpoint. If the students are particularly successful there is a possibility that they may be sponsored for their University course.
