You will learn about the linguistic features of spoken English in ordinary conversation and in more structured contexts, such as prose texts, speeches and drama scripts.

You will develop your interest and enjoyment of literature by reading widely and gaining an understanding of how language is used. You will have the opportunity to develop your own skills in speaking and writing for a variety of specific purposes and audiences in both coursework and examination situations.
